What Is Jumpstart NE Philly?
Jumpstart NE Philly is a community-focused real estate development program created to revitalize blighted properties, build local wealth, and promote affordable housing—right here in Frankford and the surrounding Northeast neighborhoods.
Modeled after the successful Jumpstart Germantown, our program teaches local residents how to buy, rehab, and rent or sell vacant properties—while staying rooted in their community.
Our Mission

- Offering one-on-one mentorship with experienced investors
- Building a strong local network of professionals and resources
- Encouraging responsible development that preserves affordability and character
What We Offer
Training Program
Learn everything from property acquisition and zoning to budgeting, financing, and construction management.
One-on-One Mentorship
Get paired with an experienced real estate investor who will guide you through your first deal.
Developers’ Network Events
Quarterly panels, meetups, and workshops to grow your network and skills.
(Optional) Access to Funding Resources
Connect with local lenders and CDFIs who understand small-scale development.
How It Works
- Apply to Join a Cohort - We run training programs, typically held in the evenings or on weekends.
- Complete the Training - Learn the “7 JumpSteps” to real estate success, taught by local professionals and guest experts.
- Get a Mentor - Once you graduate, you’ll be matched with a mentor who will help you launch your first project.
